Aphid Class III Transport

A commonly-seen transport ship during the 22nd century, the Aphid class sports a modest cargo bay, and a single shuttle. It's facilties are fairly bare-bones - the sickbay can only accomodate one patient, the messhall can only accomodate half the crew at a time, and the 7-8 crewmembers typically spend their journey in cryogenic pods due to the ship's lack of FTL capability.  Aphid class transports are used for intrasystem transport only.

Conveyer Class X Cargo Ship

A hulk of a vessel, the Conveyer class has one function: carrying cargo.  Almost the entire space of its hull is given to cargo transport, with minimal (although adequate) facilities for its skeleton crew of 30. Conveyers are long-range haulers, able to undertake lenghty journeys.

Endeavour Class XI Cruiser

The Endeavour MK I class cruiser is designed for long, multi-year missions. Primarily assigned as an exploration vessel, Endeavours can also be tasked to military service, and prove extremely capable when they do so.  These ships are outfited with laboratories, excellent medical facilities, along with leisure facilties for the 300-strong crew. Only a dozen of these ships were ever built, with five of them refitted to the later Mk II model.

Excalibur Class XIV Battleship

The Excalibur class was something of an experiment, and not an entirely successful one.  The technological limits at the time of construction meant that compromises had to be made both in terms of firepower and in terms of basic onboard facilities.  The result was a powerful battleship, with long range, high-damage capabilities and superb shielding, but a ship which was near to spartan inside despite the engineers cramming in as many crew facilties as they could in what they later termed an extreme spatial design challenge.  Crews of Excalibur class ships tend to grumble at the conditions in which they have to work, but nobody can deny that the ship is a force to be reckoned with.

Gagarin Class VI Research Vessel

Named after the first human in space, the Gagarin class is well equipped for deep space research. Comfortable, outiftted with no less than three fully-features laboratories and four shuttles, and high-spec sensors and computer systems, the Gagarin class is a popular choice for scientific missions.  The ship is unarmed, and boasts little more than navigational shielding, so is rarely found anywhere not deemed safe.

Junker Class I Courier

One of the cheapest, most basic ships available, a Junker is a small vessel capable of providing transport for a small handful of people and is a very common "starter ship".  With no leisure facilties other than a tiny messhall, and very little cargo space, Junkers possess FTL capabilities but not the range for intersystem travel.  One of the first modifications new Junker owners often perform is to sacrifice the little cargo space there is for an extended fuel bay, enabling the ship to travel further than just within a solar system.

Millennial Class II Freighter

The Millennial class is a classic smuggler's ship. Small, fast, and packing a punch for its size, it operates with a small crew of five (with room for the occasional passengers) and enough cargo space for a modest haul. Its fast antimatter FTL engines are hampered only by the limit of the older Frontier Products computer system which isn't quite up to the FTL calculations needed for the engine's maximum speed of FTL-14. For this reason, most Millennial captains either upgrade the computer or install some kind of separate navicomputer.

Solar Mk I Class XV Carrier

The Solar class carrier is an older vessel, but still a formidable beast. The ship carries a complement of 128 fighters in two large fighter bays, and mounts a pair of nuclear warhead launchers capable of extremely long-range bombardment. The TAC-COM maintains constant communication with the fighter complement, and is able to direct large battles with ease.  While cumbersome and large, and making for an easy target, the Solar class has plenty of superstructure, abalative armor, and point defenses which enable it to withstand sustained attack.

The Mk. I was designed for home system force projection only; the Kinjo Hardware LH-2 hyperdrive was designed for a much smaller ship and was included into the design for emergency escape procedures only.  As such, the Mk. I Solar is not able to make interstellar journeys (a situation which was remedied with later designs).

The Talon class scout is a Spartan vessel.  The scout designation is something of a misnomer - this ship is clearly conceived as an ambusher, and boasts a cloaking device along with a medium range missile attack.
